My client Puffin E-juice wanted to try something out.

He wanted to make a label for one of his product lines, that would appeal to a certain demographic (males in between their 20’s and 40’s), with a subliminal twist to it (sexy female form) hidden within the label itself.

Something like what Coca-Cola did with their shapely original glass bottle.

So I decided that a good subject to work with was the thick vapor you always see when someone blows out what they inhale from their vaping mods.
Such said vapor (which behaves similarly to cigarette smoke), moves in a slow, sensual, curvy fashion.
So I would do TWO things with the vapor, which would be the main component of the label:

1. Work the shape of a sexy female torso into the contoured silhouette of the vapor.
2. What my client wanted originally: hide the word “SEX” in the same shape.

So as you see, I did both.

I never heard back from him in regards to the results of this strategy. I don’t think he did any kind of study/survey. And he certainly didn’t do the other stuff we talked about, like a contest (to grow social media following) to figure out what the label was hiding.

Anyway, this was the result of that project, and I was very happy with the outcome!
