This project was great fun.
The challenge was to make a likeness of Abraham Lincoln, yet picture him as a young strapping man, working on his family’s farm.
Most of the images that remain, are of him in his later years, where you can see where age and the hardships of office during a civil war have emaciated him.

So it HAS to look like the President Lincoln everyone pictures him as, but still young and strong.

When I got the commision to work on this homebrew beer label, I immediately pictured the vintage German labels, the typical label with a monk on it, and very detailed illustrations. So I wanted to do that same style to give it the look of a beer that has been around for a long time. The fonts would also have to work with it and the framing.

What can I say, I love old/vintage things.
